Race 4: No.9 Funchal
The Team Williams-trained galloper is third-up here and looks well placed to ring-up her first win at the Ascot track.
Last start, the Playing God mare was second-up and showed plenty of improvement when she beat all but one home in a BM66, here over 1800m with William Pike aboard.
Settling back in the field, she was caught wide to the turn before scouting wider and running the best closing splits, arrived in time to claim the silver medal in the race, and her fifth minor placing at the track.
Ideally drawn here in gate two, she maps to settle near mid-field on the fence and has Pike in the saddle again.
Even fitter for two runs back, a trouble-free run here should see her staking strong claims for victory in this contest.
Race 5: No.4 Black Ora
Adam Durrant saddles-up Black Ora here who is high-flying after three starts back and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Playing God mare was on a hat-trick when she stepped-up in grade and did well when finishing a close-up third in the BM72 event, here over 1000m.
William Pike settled her mid-field before tracking wide on the turn where she finished strongly, beaten less than half a length on the line.
From gate 10 here, she maps to settle mid-field with cover and has Pike calling the shots again.
Durrant fits the blinkers for the first time and at her peak here, the four-year-old looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 7: No.3 London’s Image
The Team Williams-trained galloper has proven to be a punter’s favourite to date and second-up here ticks enough boxes to suggest she is the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Headwater mare resumed after eight months in the paddock and impressed when she beat all but one home in the Listed Crawford Stakes, here over 1200m.
Lucy Fiore had the reins for the first time and after settling mid-field early, took over half-way home before being collared right on the line by a swooper.
That was her sixth start in Listed company and her sixth podium finish at that level.
She meets Listed company here again and from barrier eight, maps to settle just behind the speed with Fiore retaining the ride.
A track specialist and already a winner when second-up, the four-year-old holds enough trump cards here to put her in the finish of this contest.
