Tatura racing takes place on Monday, September 7, with a competitive country meeting set down for Tatura.

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which is one of five meetings from around Australia that we are previewing in our Monday tips.

Race 5 No.11- Bow Ribbon

Bow Ribbon should be hard to beat in Race 5. The seven-year-old has hit a bit of a purple patch of form by placing at his past three starts, winning one. That came by two lengths in this grade at Mildura two starts ago then was unlucky in harder company than this at Bendigo over the 1400m last time when 3rd behind the likes of Invisible Magic and Electric Elvis, going 1.7 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner in this race. The Kyneton based galloper comes back in grade and will handle the going. Look for him to camp midfield in the running line from barrier 7 and be hard to hold out at the business end.

Race 6 No.2- Rogue Warrior

Keen on Rogue Warrior in Race 6. The four-year-old from the Danny O’Brien stable has been racing well in harder company than this without winning. He is yet to finish out of the top five in his nine career starts and drops down from a BenchMark 66 Saturday race in Adelaide that saw him place 4th behind Nicish, beaten one length. The 2nd and 3rd horses out of that have since gone on to win by big margins and he went one length faster than standard benchmark, which is nearly six lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. He went 1.6 lengths faster at his start prior to that and should be suited by the 1600m. Billy Egan rides and strikes at 20% for the stable, providing a 33% profit on investment.

Race 8 No.2- Ziggy Bama

Ziggy Bama can just about make it two wins from as many career starts when he steps out in the final race of the day. The Lindsey Smith gelding lined up on the Ballarat Synthetic at his debut on August 31, sitting handy to the speed in the 1000m affair before dead heating with Share The Music. Those two enjoyed a big gap to the 3rd horse. He had trialled well on the Turf prior to that and should handle the ground. The four-year-old can cross over from barrier 12 to sit in a prominent spot and the 3kg claim for Chelsea Thompson gets him down to a manageable weight.
