The John Johnston-trained galloper has come back in great touch and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Love Conquers All gelding showed a ton of improvement from his first-up effort when he finally broke through for his first win by taking out a set weights Maiden, here over 1800m.
With his first look at the 1800m trip, he jumped from the outside gate (10) where Rob Thorburn had him settled back in the field and after being trapped three-wide from the outset, he pushed forward before the turn, then took on the job of reeling in the tearaway leader which he did and went to score an impressive win as the topweight in the race.
Fitter for two runs back, he gets the gun-run from gate one tonight and maps to do no early work and settle mid-field or better with Thorburn in the saddle again.
Now a track and distance winner and covering the 1800m again, he looks the testing material in this contest.
