The Tony Cruz-trained galloper resumes after the season break and as a track specialist here, looks set to figure in the finish of this event.
Last start, the British-sired gelding ended his last preparation by finishing fifth in the Group 3 Premier Cup, here over 1400m.
With Joao Moreira aboard, he settled third and was trapped three wide to the turn, then in the run home, never stopped chasing before weakening over the final 50m, beaten just over two lengths on the line.
Drawn well in gate four here, he maps to settle just behind the speed with winning rider Zac Purton back in the saddle.
Already a first-up winner, the four-year-old also boasts four wins from six starts at the track and distance and with a trouble-free run today, looks a strong winning chance in this contest.

The Manfred Man-trained galloper comes into this race on winning form and ticks enough boxes to suggest he take out this event.

Vince Ho had him settled fifth on the fence to the turn before coming off heels and in the run home, gradually worn down the front runners and arrived in time to grab the gold medal in the race.
Fresh off the season break today, he draws wide in gate ten and maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with Ho in the saddle again.
Coming off a recent trial win, if he can avoid any trouble in running, the four-year-old should be there at the finish of this contest.
Race 9: No.5 Baby Sakura
The Francis Lui-trained galloper has missed just one podium finish from his six career starts and first-up today, looks the pick of crop in this event.
Last start, the Tagaloa gelding came off his only unplaced effort to date when he bounced back to take out a Class 3, here over 1400m.
Pushed forward from gate five by Vince Ho, he wound up box-seating on settling to the turn, then on straightening he was held up most of the way home until finally securing clean air and finished strongly to grab the winner’s cheque near the line.
Getting all the favours here, he draws gate one and with Ho on board again, maps to be box-seating on settling.
A recent trial winner, he is also a track specialist boasting three wins from his six starts here and already a winner when first-up, he looks the testing material in this contest.
