Race 3: No.3 Oakfield Missouri
The Scott Singleton-trained galloper is three starts into his racing career and looks well placed here to find the podium again in this event.
Last start, the Lope de Vega gelding came off consecutive podium finishes when he finished unplaced in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1300m.
Mikayla Weir settled him outside the leader without cover to the turn, then in the run home, held his own to the 100m mark before finding the extra 100m a little too much in the end, weakening out of the battle.
Dropping back to the 1000m trip today, he draws well in gate five and maps to be near the speed with Weir in the saddle again.
At his peak after three runs in, he should find this BM58 test a little easier and looks a major player in this contest.
Race 6: No.6 Tacitly
Team Archibald saddle-up Tacitly here who is second-up today and ticks enough boxes to suggest he will take beating in this event.
Last start, the Wootton Bassett gelding resumed after five months off the scene and did well to beat all but one home in a BM66 Hcp, here over 1400m.
Drawn wide that day, he settled back in the field before tracking wide on the turn, then spotting the leader six lengths, he ran home strongly to finish 1.5 lengths from glory with Mitchell Bell aboard.
Stepping-up to a more suitable 1600m today, he jumps from gate seven here and maps to settle near mid-field with cover and has Bell on his back again.
Placed twice at the track and finished runner-up when second-up last campaign, he will strip fitter today and looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 7: No.6 Ocean Tsunami
The Scott Singleton-trained filly has done everything but win this preparation and gets her chance to turn it around in this event.
Last start, the Ocean Park filly finished fourth in a BM58 Hcp, here over 1700m with Izzy Neale at the wheel.
Lumping 60.5kgs, she settled second at the leader’s girth and had the job of taking the field up to challenge, then in the home straight, battled on gamely but the weight proved to be the telling factor on the day which saw her finish just over two lengths from the winner.
Stepping-up to BM66 company here, she drops 3kgs in weight for this assignment and from gate three, maps to settle just behind the speed with Mikala Weir back for her second ride on the three-year-old.
A track specialist here, she has recorded a win and two runner-up finishes from her four starts at Scone and looks set to go on with it in this contest.
