Race 3: No.9 Naval Commission
The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper is high flying this time in and looks well placed here to make it four-straight in this event.
Last start, the Merchant Navy gelding brought up the hat-trick when he easily accounted for a BM72 field over 2200m at Warwick Farm.
Nash Rawiller took him to the lead early where he dominated the speed and after going unchallenged, had plenty of fuel left for the run home where he crossed the line a length clear in the end while carrying 59kgs.
He is up in grade here as he takes on a BM90 over the longer 2400m trip but drops 7kgs for the race and welcomes Zac Lloyd as the new pilot.
Another wet track is forecast which will suit as he is unbeaten in three starts on heavy tracks.
Well weighted, and gate one is all his, the four-year-old should prove hard to run down in this contest.
Race 5: No.4 African Daisy
The Jason Deamer-trained galloper is second-up here and fitter for one run back, looks a major contender for the winner’s cheque in this event.
Last start, the American Pharoah mare resumed off a 13-week spell and with Nash Rawiller in the saddle, beat all but one home in a BM78 over 1200m at Warwick Farm.
She draws gate five here and maps to settle better than mid-field with Rawiller remaining aboard for this assignment.
Already a winner at the track ,she has claimed second prize, four times from five previous second-up efforts and maybe she can go one better this time.
Race 6: No.10 In Flight
Joe Pride saddles-up the filly here who has claimed victory in two of her three starts this preparation and looks set for back-to-back wins in this event.
Last start, the Flying Artie-sired filly came off heels and proved too strong when she took out a BM72, here over 1100m.
On a Heavy 9 that day, She was fitter for two runs back as Jay Ford rode her a treat, winning by a length on the line.
Ford sticks with her here as she meets similar company over the same trip, and from gate four, she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.
The wet conditions look ideal for her and with a trouble-free run, she should be there at the finish.
Race 7: No.2 Waterford
Chris Waller saddles-up four runners in this event as we run with this Irish-bred galloper who after three runs back, now looks ready to conquer the 2000m.
Last start, the five-year-old did it tough in Open company where he drew wide in gate nine (of 15) and had 59.5kgs to carry as he did his best to finish sixth over the Randwick mile that day.
He settled well back and just found the task too much, beaten almost four lengths in the end.
He will get back from gate 10 here and look for cover in the back half of the field on settling.
Nash Rawiller rode him to victory three starts back on this track and steers the ship for this assignment.
Four of his five career wins came in this track and he boasts two wins on wet tracks as well.
At his peak here, he looks the best of the day.
