We have the best bets picked out from across day with value selections for Eagle Farm Racecourse including the feature Tatt's Tiara.
Race 3: No. 4 Millane
Broke through for career win number three at this track and distance three starts back on a soft track in a benchmark 88 handicap.
Made up plenty of ground late three weeks ago over 1200m on a good four when producing the best final 600m of the race to go down by under a length.
This event doesn’t look much harder and James McDonald jumps aboard again in a very winnable race.
Race 6: No. 7 Knight’s Choice
Finished 4.5 lengths off Obamburamai in the Golden Eagle in November last year and finished that campaign back up here in Queensland by winning a Doomben over 2000m when beating Red Wave and that horse went on to win the Ipswich Cup last weekend.
Started this prep by finishing second behind Gringotts at Listed level and was last seen finishing second behind Fawkner Park in the Q22.
He should be ready to peak at this stage of his campaign and he’s drawn to get a lovely run in transit from barrier two.
Race 7: No. 6 Wategos
Five-year-old gelding with a good winning record of eight wins from 24 career starts including a 2.3 length win at Doomen three starts back over 1350m.
He ran into one better in the form of Yellow Brick two back and then was cramped for room at a vital stage in the straight at Ipswich last weekend but still managed to finish third behind At Witz End.
He’s started under $3.00 in his last couple at Listed level so starting price profile would suggest he’s good enough to be going close in a race of this quality.
Race 9: No. 9 King Kapa
Won a Listed event at this track and distance during last year’s winter carnival but was then not seen at the track for almost an entire year.
Both runs this campaign have been full of merit and he found them just a little sharp over the 1000m last time out despite finding the line quite well to be beaten two lengths.
He’ll take plenty of benefit out of that run and appreciate the step up to 1200m at this stage of the campaign as well as the good track which s where he has produced five of his six career wins.
