Race 2: No.7 Dance Boss
The Simon Miller-trained galloper has made a sensational start to his racing career and looks ideally placed here to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Deep Field gelding made it seven podium finishes from his eight career starts when he beat all but one home in a BM66, here over 1400m.
Jumping from gate 12 (of 13), he was never on the track, and yet only missed by a whisker in winning the event, running the best closing splits in race as well.
There is plenty of early speed in this race as he draws much better in gate four and maps to settle mid-field with cover.
Clint Johnston-Porter returns for his fourth ride on the gelding, having already steered him to victory (four starts back at Ascot).
Its hard to ignore the form he already has on the board although up in grade here, he drops 2kgs accordingly and still looks the one to beat.
Race 5: No.5 Objectify
The Daniel Morton-trained galloper is unbeaten in two starts this preparation and it will take a smart one here to prevent her from bringing up the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the No Nay Never filly came off a Class 1 win and franked that effort by going back-to-back, taking out a three-year-old Open Hcp, here over 1200m.
She settled mid-field from a wide gate with Brad Parnham aboard and simply finished too strong for them in the run home, crossing the line 1.5 lengths ahead of field.
The three-year-old steps up to the 1400m trip here as she meets similar company where she carries an extra 2kgs after her last two performances.
Parnham has been aboard for all four race starts to date and sticks with her for this assignment.
From gate four, she maps to settle better than mid-field and with a clear run home, she looks the best of the day.
Race 6: No.2 Kisses From Kelly
Holly Taylor saddles-up her four-year-old here who is high-flying this time in and ticks all the boxes that suggest he can go back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Demerit gelding was third-up when he brought up his second career win by taking out a Class 3 Hcp, here over 2100m with Clint Johnston-Porter aboard for the first time.
Sent out a white-hot $1.95 favourite, he didn’t disappoint, winning by almost a length on the line with something to spare.
Five starts at the track have produced two wins and as many minor placings as Clint Johnston-Porter sticks with him for this assignment.
Drawn nicely in gate five, he maps to settle better than mid-field and with a trouble-free run here, he can figure in the finish again.
Race 8: No.12 Kings Salute
Trained at Ascot by Daniel Morton, the three-year-old is in great touch this time in and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he is a major in this event.
Last start, the King’s Troop gelding recorded career-win number two when he clobbered them in a 0 Metro Wins Hcp, here over 1400m.
With Chris Parnham aboard, he set the best closing splits of the race as he took over inside the final 100m and went on to win by 1.5 lengths in the end.
He steps up in grade here, facing BM66 company and sees the 1600m trip for the first time as well but has Parnham sticking with him and drops 4.5kgs in the process.
He gets the gun-run from gate one here and in top-shelf form of late, he can make it two-straight in this contest.
