Caulfield racing takes place on Saturday, June 29, with a seven-race program for the Victorian meeting.

Caulfield Race 2 No Waverider Buoy
Caulfield Race 3 No. 5 Golden Crusader
Caulfield Race 7 No. 10 Miss Roumbini
Caulfield Race 8 No. 1 Fleetwood

We have the best bets picked out from across the day with value selections for Caulfield Racecourse.

Caulfield Race 2 No Waverider Buoy

It was a promising return from Waverider Buoy at Randwick on June 8 over the 1000m and I am willing to have something on the Chris Waller-trained mare at her second run this time in.

The four-year-old settled back on the Heavy 9 that day and reeled off the fastest 400m-200m split before just peaking late. Form from that race has held up with The Black Cloud coming south and winning impressively at Flemington last weekend.

Waverider Buoy might be back to the form that she displayed at this time last year when scoring second up over the 1100m at Rosehill before coming to Caulfield later on and filling the exacta behind Viviane at the track and trip.

She draws barrier 1 for this assignment, which can be a bonus on some days at Caulfield.

Caulfield Race 3 No. 5 Golden Crusader

Golden Crusader can just about pinch it in Race 5. The six-year-old looks the likely leader in a race where a number of others like to get back and comes into this with two runs under the belt. He needed the hitout when 6th on resumption at Sandown before showing improvement second up at that venue.

That came on June 15 and the Price/Kent Jnr galloper led and was headed inside the last 200m but fought back strongly when runner-up behind Hard To Cross, putting five lengths on the rest of them.

He was a solid 4th in a BenchMark 100 race over the 2000m at Flemington when third up and will take some running down.

Caulfield Race 7 No. 10 Miss Roumbini

Miss Roumbini can go on with the job in Race 7. Another from the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr stable, she was impressive at the recent Saturday Sandown meeting when second up over the 1300m on June 15, clearing out to win by two lengths from Flying Fizz.

The daughter of Zoustar looks to have come back in good order and ran quick time that day. She draws barrier 3 and will be ridden by Ethan Brown, who strikes at 22% for the stable, providing a 12% profit on turnover for punters.

Caulfield Race 8 No. 1 Fleetwood

Fleetwood will be out to make it a hat-trick of wins in Race 8.

The Godolphin galloper comes up from Sydney and was too good for them at Warwick Farm when resuming before stepping up to Saturday Randwick and clearing out to a dominant win ahead of The Black Cloud, who did the job at Flemington last week.

He is another that draws barrier 1 and monitor how they are faring on the inside throughout the day. A firmer in the early betting, look for him to lead or box seat with Damian Lane to ride.
