The John Sargent-trained galloper is in good touch of late and looks well placed here to figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the Exceedance filly came off a BM68 win at Newcastle when she stepped-up in grade and wasn’t disgraced finishing third in a BM72 over 1700m at Scone.

Drawn wide that day in gate 11, Jason Collett eased her back to settle near the tail of the field before turning for home and spotting the leaders six lengths, ran home well to grab the minor prize on the line.

Meeting similar company here, she draws gate nine and maps to settle near mid-field with Anna Roper as the new pilot.

Both career wins to date have come on wet tracks so the forecast heavy conditions look ideal for the three-year-old where she looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 8: No.6 Super Nui

Ron Quinton saddles-up Super Nui here who is second-up and ticks the right boxes that suggest she can play a major role in the outcome of this event.

Last start, the Super One mare resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and did well to beat all but one home in a BM72 Hcp over 1250m on the Kensington circuit at Randwick.

Lumping 61.5kgs on fresh legs, Louise Day settled her second, one off the fence without cover, before making a move on straightening where she took over soon after and looked home until the Godolphin mare (Thames) finished over the top to grab the win near the line.

The two gallopers clash again in this event with Thames untried on a heavy track and drawing the carpark in gate 15.

Day retains the ride for this assignment and from gate three maps to settle in the first half-dozen.

Stepping-up to BM78 company, she drops 3.5kgs for the class rise and already boasting three wins on wet tracks, she looks in the mix for victory in this contest.

Race 10: No.9 Hay Street

A wide gate looks the only obstacle for the Team Archibald-trained galloper to overcome in his attempt to claim victory in this event.

Last start, the well-bred Capitalist gelding made it six-straight podium finishes when he beat all but one home in a BM78 over 1100m at Scone.

Braith Nock settled him fourth, one off the fence in a fast run race before coming off heels and ran home strongly, taking ground off the leader but was unable to bridge the gap in time, beaten a neck on the line.

Meeting similar company here, he has drawn wide in gate 14 (of 18) where he maps to push forward and settle mid-field or better with Nock steering the ship again for this assignment.

Already a track and distance winner and boasting success in wet conditions, the three-year-old is still a winning chance in this contest.
