Race 1: No.4 Monkhana
The Wyong-based galloper is in top-shelf form this time in and her first look at the Randwick here could be a winning one.
Last start, the well-bred Mongolian Khan mare came off a handy win over 1500m at Rosehill when she stepped-up to the 1800m journey and did well to finish third in the BM72 event on the same track.
The stable have dropped her back to the mile trip here with regular rider Anna Roper steering the ship again.
Drawn the fence, she maps to be parked right behind the speed with the jump in the leaders.
Fourth-up and at her peak now, she looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 3: No.2 Disneck
Bjorn Baker saddles-up Disneck here who is third-up and should be ready to rock in this event.
Last start, the Trapeze Artist gelding was second-up off a 22-week absence and showed some improvement when finishing sixth in a BM88, over 1200m at Rosehill.
Settling back in the field, Josh Parr pushed forward on the turn and in the run home, was held up several times, only finding daylight in the last 100m and did well to finish just 1.5 lengths from the winner.
Fitter for two runs back now, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.
J.Mac has the reins for the first time and already a two-time winner when third-up, he looks a serious player in this contest.
Race 10: No.5 Lord Penman
The Chris Waller-trained galloper is in outstanding form and second-up here, looks the one they all have to beat in this event.
Last start, the Contributer gelding was fresh off a 19-week spell and having his first start for the Waller camp, impressed by beating all but one home in a BM94 over 1200m at Rosehill.
On an unfavourable heavy track, settled him near mid-field (on the fence) before gaining a split in the run home where he finished strongly, beaten a neck on the line.
The four-year-old gets the gun-run here from gate one where he maps to settle better than mid-field on the fence and has J.Mac aboard for this assignment.
The former NZ’er will strip fitter from that first-up effort and all things going well here, he looks the pick of the crop in this contest.
