Race 2: No.6 Nextonixs
The Strathalbyn-based galloper is third-up here and in top-shelf form, looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Tassort mare came off an impressive first-up win in a BM66 on this track when she made a one-off visit to Melbourne and stepping up in grade, wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in a BM70 over 1000m at Sandown.
Settling mid-field early, she held her ground and ran home well to take out the minor prize in the race with Jamie Melham in the saddle.
Back on familiar soil here, Rochelle Milnes returns to steer the ship where she is two from two with the mare.
Drawn gate one here, the four-year-old gets all the favours and currently unbeaten in two starts at Morphettville, she looks set to keep that record intact in this contest.
Race 8: No.6 Nasho
Team Oxlade saddle-up Nasho here who has found his mojo of late and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he can go back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the British-sired gelding was third-up and showed plenty of improvement when he took out a BM78, here over 1400m.
Drawn wide in gate nine (of 11), Brooke King pushed forward and crossed to lead before going on with it and crossing the line more than a length clear in the end.
He gets the gun-run from gate one here and maps to be showing them the way again with King in the saddle again.
Meeting similar company over the same trip, he should prove hard to run down in this contest.
Race 9: No.6 Streetcar Fury
The Jolly & Potter Team-trained galloper is second-up here and showed enough when resuming to suggest he can go one better in this event.
Last start, the Exceedance gelding returned after six months in the paddock and impressed when he beat all but one home in a 12-strong field, here over 1000m with Kayla Crowther aboard.
Settling just behind the speed, he tracked the front runners into the straight and hit the line strongly, beaten a whisker on the line.
Well drawn in gate five here, he maps to settle mid-field with cover and has Todd Pannell as the new pilot for this assignment.
The lightly-raced four-year-old has never been second-up before but on his last start effort, rates a winning chance in this contest.
