Race 2: No.4 Travolta
The Chris Waller-trained galloper is third-up today and has shown enough so far to suggest he can claim victory in this event.
Last start, the Lope de Vega gelding was second-up when he found the podium by finishing a close-up third in the Parramatta Cup over 1900m at Rosehill.
James McDonald settled him mid-field, one off the fence, to the turn before running home strongly to claim the minor prize, beaten less than a length on the line.
He draws wide here and maps to settle in the back half of the field with J.Mac in the saddle again for this assignment.
Already a winner when third-up and a three-time winner at the 2000m trip, he will strip even fitter here and looks a serious contender for the major prize in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Unleeshing
Bjorn Baker saddles-up Unleeshing here who is high-flying this time in and with a little luck in running, can take out this Group 3 event.
Last start, the Dundeel mare made it back-to-back wins when she easily accounted for a BM78 field, here over the mile trip.
With Jason Collett aboard for the first time, he settled her just behind the speed to the turn before crossing off the leader’s heels and while still two lengths in arrears on straightening, took control inside the final 150m and went on to score by 1.5 lengths in the end.
Drawn out in gate 10 here, she maps to cross and settle better than mid-field with Collett steering the ship again.
Back to fillies and mares opposition and already a track and distance winner, she looks a worthy contender in this contest.
Race 8: No.1 Autumn Boy
The Chris Waller-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest he can claim his second Group 1 cheque in this event.
Last start, the son of The Autumn Sun resumed off a 19-week spell and caught the eye when finishing third in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes over 1400m.
J.Mac settled him last of the seven runners before tracking wide on the turn, then finished off strongly to claim the minor prize behind Ninja.
Drawn better here in gate three, he maps to settle mid-field on the fence with J.Mac at the helm again.
Already a winner when second-up and having tasted success at the Group 1 previously, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
