- Race 9: No.10 The Black Cloud

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Randwick racecourse.
Race 4: No.1 West Of Africa
The Annabel Neasham camp saddle-up West Of Africa here who is high-flying at the moment and looks every chance of landing the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the Not A Single Doubt gelding made it three wins from his past four starts when he clobbered a BM78 field, here over 1600m with Tyler Schiller in the saddle.
Settling back in the field, Schiller worked him into the race on straightening and simply finished too strong for them, crossing the line two lengths clear in the end.
He gets the gun-run from gate one here and meets similar company over the same track and distance, but has to carry an extra 3kgs for his last two performances.
In career-best form this preparation, despite the extra weight, with Schiller in the saddle again, he can make it three-straight in this contest.
Race 7: No.8 Joliestar
The Chris Waller-trained Joliestar resumes off a 19-week spell here and with two successful trials behind her, she looks a genuine winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar mare had just the one run after a 21-week break where she finished best to win the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint, here over 1200m with Jamie Kah at the helm.
She ran 1:09.2 for the 1200m which was most impressive on fresh legs and not completely race-fit for that event.
That win came off victory in Group 1 company at Caulfield where she clobbered them in the Thousand Guineas.
James McDonald rode her in both trials since that last-start win and will partner the four-year-old mare in this contest.
Six career starts for three wins and three runner-up finishes says it all about this mare and with a trouble-free run here, can crack it in this easier Group 3 event.
Race 9: No.10 The Black Cloud
Joe Pride saddles-up The Black Cloud here who boasts an even more impressive resume to Joliestar and first-up here, ticks all the boxes that suggest she will take a ton of beating in this event.
Last start, the Shamus Award mare made a quick trip south of the border where she lined-up in an Open company event at Flemington and gave he rivals a galloping lesson, taking out that event by a length on the line.
Regular rider, Jay Ford made the trip with the mare and confidently steered her to that victory down the straight course, with 59kgs on her back.
She gets all the favours here from gate one as Ford sticks with her again.
Unbeaten in two first-up efforts to date, she is also a winner at Randwick and is three from three on ‘soft’ tracks, so the forecast soft track here makes conditions ideal for her in this contest.
She maps to lead them on settling and dominating the race from the outset, it will take a smart one to run her down.
Race 10: No.9 Invader Zim
Another from the Chris Waller stable is Invader Zim who is in top-shelf form this preparation and ticks enough boxes to suggest he can stake a claim for victory in this event.
Last start, the Invader gelding was second-up and went one better than his first-up effort when he took out a BM72 over 1300m on this track.
Kerrin McEvoy steered the ship that day where he settled the galloper last of the eight runners but showing a great turn of speed, finished best to collect the major prize that day.
He draws wide here in gate 10 (of 13) and with McEvoy retaining the ride, he maps to settle back in the field again.
The lightly-raced four-year-old has never had three starts in a single preparation to date so it will interesting to see how he handles it here.
He has plenty of upside about him and although he steps up in grade here, his wet track form suggests he will be in this contest to the end.
