Race 6: No.4 Tahnee Treasure
The Peter Hardacre-trained galloper is three starts into this preparation and now looks ready to win.
Last start, the Merchant Navy mare showed plenty of improvement when she beat all but one home in a BM74 over 1600m on her home track at Murray Bridge.
Rochelle Milnes was aboard that day and settled the mare just behind the speed on the fence before running home smartly to collect the runner-up prize in the race.
Milnes sticks with her for this assignment and from gate nine, maps to settle near mid-field with cover.
The five-year-old is a track specialist here, boasting three wins from her five visits to date and at her peak, fourth-up, she looks a genuine contender in this contest.
Race 8: No.2 Magic Field
Andrew Clarken saddles-up Magic Field here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to suggest he can figure in this event.
Last start, the Deep Field gelding resumed after more than six months off the scene when in need of the run, he weakened over the final stages to miss a place in a BM64, here over 1050m.
He takes on an easier restricted BM62 assignment here and has apprentice Felicity Atkinson aboard for the first time who brings a welcomed 3kg claim to ease the burden.
He gets all the favours from gate one here where he maps to settle on the speed and already a winner when second-up, he looks set to show his best in this contest.
Race 9: No.12 Streetcar Apollo
The David Jolly-trained galloper is in great touch this time in and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar gelding rang-up career-win number three when he took out a BM56 over 1400m at Balaklava with Justin Potter on board for his eighth ride on the gelding.
Sent out a red-hot $1.90 favourite, he drew the outside gate with Potter opting to push forward and eventually crossed to lead them on settling.
Despite the wide gate and 60kgs on his back, the five-year-old still proved too strong for them, going on to win by a length on the line.
He draws much better here in gate four where he maps to settle on the speed with Potter steering the ship again.
In career-best form and down in the weights here, he can give this contest a real shake and looks well worth an each-way ticket.
