Race 2: No.9 Somewhere Soon
The Andrew Gluyas-trained galloper is high-flying after three starts back and is ideally placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Impending mare was third-up and went one better when she took put a BM0-56 Hcp over 1600m at Strathalbyn.
Jason Holder settled her back in the field before tracking wide on the turn then finishing off better than any in the 13-strong field and taking home the gold medal.
Stepping up to the 1800m trip here, she gets the gun-run from gate one and will do no early work as she maps to settle back again, on the fence.
A clear run to the line will be all she needs to give this contest a real shake.
Race 3: No.2 Intellectual
Team Jolly saddle-up Intellectual here who is second-up and looks ready to win.
Least start, the Written By gelding resumed off a 21-week break and did well when finishing second in a BM62 Hcp, here over 1050m.
Jake Toeroek was aboard again and after settling outside the leader, battled it out all the way home but his lack of race fitness told in the end, leaving him with the silver medal for the race.
Meeting similar company here, he draws wide in gate ten but maps to push forward and settle near the speed.
Toeroek has been aboard for all three of the gelding’s races and sticks with him for this assignment.
Fitter for that first-up run and a track specialist here, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 6: No.2 Blanc Visage
The Team Blanch-trained galloper is in top-shelf form this time in and third-up today, looks set for another win in this event.
Last start, the Pariah mare came off a good first-up win at Gawler when she beat all but one home in a BM0-70, here over 1050m.
Teagan Voorham settled her back in the field, on the fence, before working her way wide on the turn, then finishing strongly and arriving a whisker too late, beaten a nose on the line.
From gate six, she maps to settle near mid-field with cover and has Voorham in the saddle again.
In top-shelf form and fitter for two runs back, the five-year-old is a winning chance in this contest.
