Race 5: No.4 Quickzou
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is third-up here and has done enough to suggest he can go back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar gelding showed plenty of improvement when second-up as he took out a 1200m Maiden Plate at Eagle Farm.
From the outside gate (12), Jai Williams took him to the lead and from there, never looked in any trouble, going on to score by 1.5 lengths on the line.
Facing his own age group here, he draws much better in gate five and maps to settle on the speed again with Daniel Moor as the new pilot.
Carrying less weight here, he steps-up to the 1350m trip and fitter for those two runs back, he looks the one they have to catch in this contest.
Race 8: No.7 Boom Shot
Tony Gollan saddles-up Boom Shot here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to suggest he will take beating in this event.
Last start, the Spirit of Boom gelding resumed off a 12-week spell and did well to finish third in a BM70 Hcp, here over 1350m with Martin Harley aboard.
Settling back in the field, he gave them a big start and in the run home, found the gaps near the fence and weaved through to grab third prize in the end, finishing less than a length from victory.
Well drawn in gate three here, he does no early work as he settles back in the field again with Ceejay Graham returning for the ride in this assignment.
Already a two-time winner at the track and fitter for that first-up effort, a trouble-free run here should see him hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 9: No.3 Make A Call
Another from the Gollan stable, Make A Call is second-up here and after turning heads when fresh, looks a serious winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Extreme Choice gelding resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and made an impact when he took out a BM70, here over 1350m.
With Angela Jones in charge again, he settled near the tail of the field and turning for home, could see them all before storming home to grab the winner’s cheque right on the line.
Stepping-up to the 1600m here, he draws well in gate two and does no early work as he maps to settle back again, on the fence.
Fitter for that impressive first-up win, Jones steers the ship again and with a clear run to the line here, the five-year-old could prove hard to hold out again in this contest.
