Race 1: No.6 Sharpassa
The Jason Miller-trained galloper has impressed with podium finishes in all three career starts to date and looks set to continue that trend in this event.
Last start, the Sessions filly came off her maiden win at Bunbury when she beat all but one home in a 1000m Hcp at Belmont.
Lucy Fiore backed-up from that maiden win for the ride and settled the filly one off the fence, right behind the speed before tracking wide on the turn, then finishing hard, arriving in time to claim the silver medal in the race, beaten a neck on the line.
Ideally drawn here in gate two, she maps to settle better than mid-field with Fiore retaining the ride and in such good form, the three-year-old can go on with it in this contest.
Race 5: No.7 Immortal Bliss
The Daniel Morton-trained galloper has six-straight podium finishes on his resume and looks all set to ring-up number seven in this event.
Last start, the I Am Immortal gelding impressed when he beat all but one home in a Rating 72+ over 1300m at Mount Barker.
William Pike was aboard that day and after drawing wide, settled back in the field where he was also caught wide to the turn, then ran the best final 400m to claim second prize in the race.
Ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to settle just behind the speed, on the fence and has Lucy Fiore as the new pilot.
Already a winner when third-up, another win here is looking very possible in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Lillian
Michael Grantham saddles-up Lillian here who is high-flying at present and looks a every chance of bringing up the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the War Decree mare came off a Class 3 win on this track when she franked that effort over 1800m here again with Clint Johnston-Porter in the saddle.
Settling right behind the speed, one off the fence, she peeled wide on the turn and finished best to grab the winner’s cheque near the line.
Well drawn in gate four here, she maps to sit just behind the pacemakers again with Johnston-Porter at the helm.
Unbeaten in two starts at Ascot now and in career-best form, she looks the testing material in this contest.
