Morphettville racing takes place on Saturday, August 8 with a 9-race program set down for the Morphettville racetrack.

Race 3: No.4 Jandami

The Darryl Dodson-trained galloper is high-flying this time in and looks well placed here to bring-up the hat-trick in this event.

Last start, the Barbados gelding came off a BM62 win and franked that effort by stepping-up in grade and taking out a BM76 Hcp, here over 1600m.

From the outside gate (11), Alysha Warren settled him mid-field but was never on the track, trapped three-wide to the turn before tracking even wider on straightening, then pulled off a mighty effort to storm home and still grab the gold medal on the line.

Drawn the same gate here (11), he maps to settle back in the field with Warren in the saddle again and with a little luck in running, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 6: No.2 Deepfloat Diva

The Team Jolly-trained galloper is running into form of late and should now be ready to strike in this event.

Last start, the Deep Field gelding found the podium again when he finished third in a BM0-70 Hcp, here over 1100m.

Unwanted in the market ($20), Harry Grace settled him second in the race before finishing on well to take home the minor prize, beaten less than a length in the end.

Meeting BM72 opposition here, he jumps from gate seven and maps to settle mid-field with regular rider Jake Toeroek back in the saddle (and has steered him to all five career wins to date).

Already a three-time winner at the track and distance, he looks in the mix to take out this contest.

Race 7: No.12 Cicala

The Clarken and Sorby Team saddle-up Cicala here who is third-up and ticks the right boxes that suggest she can claim victory in this event.

Last start, the Tamasa mare improved off her first-up effort when she finished fourth in a Hcp event, here over 1100m.

Box-seating on settling, she tracked the two leaders to the turn before coming off their heels and in the run home, chased them all the way and crossed the line in a four-way battle, unlucky not to pick-up a podium finish in the end.

Taking on Group 3 company here where she draws wide in gate 12 and maps to cross and settle better than mid-field with regular rider Rochelle Milnes retaining the ride (after steering her to all four career wins to date).

The mare looked just one run short in her last effort but should be at her peak for this and already a winner when third-up, the five-year-old looks set to claim a black-type scalp in this contest.
