Moonee Valley Race 1 No. 1- Evaporate

Evaporate can make it a hat-trick of wins when he steps out in the opener at the Valley. The Team Hayes galloper claimed his Maiden at Cranbourne two starts ago before rising straight to Saturday class and toying with his rivals over the 1523m at Moonee Valley on August 24, careering to a three-length win. The son of Per Incanto did a few things wrong but still had the edge in that race. He has the versatility to either lead or sit just off them, while we can back him with confidence, given he appears to like the track.

Moonee Valley Race 5 No. 6- A Little Deep

A Little Deep gets her shot at this level after a solid first-up win and the Ciaron Maher-trained galloper can measure up. She was impressive at Caulfield over the 1100m on August 17 when settling midfield before showing strong acceleration to swoop on them, going a healthy 10 lengths faster than standard benchmark. The five-year-old was an improver at her last prepration, winning over the 1000m at Moonee Valley and narrowly missing behind Sans Doute at Flemington. Plenty of pace in the race with Snapper and Who Dares to go forward, which will set things up nicely for her.

Moonee Valley Race 7 No. 3- Public Attention

Public Attention can continue the perfect start to his career when he steps out in the McKenzie Stakes for the three-year-olds. The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper dug deep on debut when wide without cover before getting the upper hand late over Ndola on July 27. That horse has since won at Sandown, while the 3rd placegetter has claimed a Group 3. Public Attention went a healthy 11 lenghts faster than standard

Moonee Valley Race 8 No. 2- Pericles

Pericles is a clear top pick in the So You Think Stakes. The Godolphin galloper has a bit of a class edge on this lot and resumed with a runner-up at Group 2 level in the PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 17, finishing just behind Gentleman Roy and Pinstriped, who finished 3rd and 1st respectively in the Group 1 Memsie (1400m) last weekend. Pericles improved a few lengths at this stage of his last campaign when runner-up behind Mr Brightside in the Orr Stakes. The knock is his winning record of four from 19 but he has tackled the best for a number of runs now and this looks easier and well within his grasp.
