Moonee Valley Racing Tips for October 25 - Consistent filly looks bulletproof in Race 2

We have the best bets picked out from across the day with value selections for Moonee Valley Racecourse.

She’s Bulletproof can get the job done in Race 2 at the Valley. The Charlotte Littlefield-trained galloper has finished top three in six of her seven starts, winning two. She resumed at Bendigo on October 6 over the 1100m and settled handy but was grabbed late by Pondalowie. She enjoyed a four-length gap on the rest of them, while the winner out of that has since gone down in a photo finish behind Niance in Listed grade at Caulfield. She’s Bulletproof will strip fitter for this and was a winner at her only career second up run. Craig Williams rides. 

He is a bit of a non-winner but this does look to be an easy kill for Verdad. The four-year-old has scored just once in 11 starts but has placed on six occasions with a number of those coming in much harder company than this. At his most recent start, the Griffiths/de Kock galloper was posted three deep at Caulfield over the 1440m but was unable to hold off Poison Chalice in the run home. He gets to the 1600m now and at his last go at the trip he was 5th in the Australian Guineas behind three subsequent Group 1 winners. Jye McNeil rides and will look to push up to settle handy from the draw. 

Close To Midnight is a strong chance in Race 4. The son of I Am Invincible has had the two career starts for a win on debut at Mornington before heading to Sandown and placing 3rd behind Aldolfito. He jumped sharply in grade that day and led before just going down in the last 25m. The 4th placegetter out of that has since gone on to win. This looks easier and I expect Jye McNeil to push up from the draw to either lead or sit outside the leader. The pair should be hard to get past at the business end. 

We close off with the 55 Second Challenge and Fission can end a run of outs that stretches nearly two years. The five-year-old went close at the track and trip when a narrow 3rd. He was posted four-wide the trip after drawing barrier 11 but ran on gamely. Since then, the Griffiths/de Kock galloper has placed 5th in a hot form race at Sandown behind the likes of Isthmus and Lazy Susan. He comes into this with seven weeks in between runs but he performs well on the fresh side and has never finished out of the top three in eight runs at the track and trip.
