Race 3: No.6 The Piccolino
The Paul Perry-trained galloper is high-flying of late and looks well placed in the conditions to give this event a real shake.
Last start, the Wandjina gelding made it back-to-back wins when he claimed victory in a BM66 over 1000m at Taree.
Racing on a Heavy 9 that day, he drew wide in barrier eight (of 9) where Shannen Llewellyn settled him third but trapped three-wide to the turn before taking over soon after straightening and showed plenty of fight to go on and collect the cash over the line.
Facing BM64 company today, he draws better in gate four and maps to settle just behind the early speed with Llewellyn in the irons again.
All four career wins have come on wet tracks so conditions today are ideal for the four-year-old and carrying less weight, he looks a major threat in this contest.
Race 5: No.5 Kiss Of Gold
The Matt Smith-trained galloper is in good touch after two starts back and should now be ready to show her best in this event.
Last start, the Peltzer filly found the podium again when she finished third in a Maiden Plate over 900m at Newcastle.
In the Heavy 8 conditions, she settled back in the field, glued to the fence to the turn before scouting wide and while spotting the leading group six lengths, stormed home to grab the minor prize, finishing better than any other in the race.
Stepping-up to the 1100m today, she draws well in gate five and maps to settle mid-field with Claire Ramsbotham as the new pilot for this assignment.
After the claim, she drops 2kgs here and the rise in trip looks ideal for the three-year-old at this stage of her preparation.
Fitter for those two runs back, a clear run to the line should see her arriving late to challenge for the major prize and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 6: No.3 Pazyryk
Michael Freedman saddles-up Pazyryk here who impressed when resuming and looks well placed here to frank that effort in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Lonhro filly returned to the track after 17 weeks off the scene and did well to chalk-up her fist win by taking out a Maiden Hcp, here over 1100m.
Rachel King settled her near the tail of the field, then on straightening, secured a split on the inside and did best in the run home to claim victory in the end.
Ideally drawn here in gate two, she maps to settle near mid-field on the fence with Keagan Latham back for his third ride on the filly.
Fitter off that first-up win, the Godolphin three-year-old is a progressive type and looks the testing material in this contest.
