Caulfield racing takes place on Saturday, May 31, with a nine-race program set down for Caulfield racetrack.

Race 1 No.2- Milennium Blade
Race 3 No.1- Big Swinger
Race 8 No.7- Niance

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Caulfield racetrack.

Race 1 No.2- Milennium Blade

Milennium Blade is set to get the day off to a flyer for us in the opener. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr colt made his debut at Caufield on May 10 over the 1100m and worked into it with the fastest 400m-200m split then was tightened for room when the heat went on, eventually sticking on for 3rd on what was a bit of a leaders track. Prince Tycoon won that race and has since come out and finished a slightly unlucky runner-up when trapped wide in a $1 million race at the Gold Coast. Milennium Blade went seven lengths faster than standard on debut, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. The son of Too Darn Hot should take improvement from his debut and draws ideally in barrier 5.

Race 3 No.1- Big Swinger

Nice race with some promising three-year-olds in action. Going with Big Swinger, who comes in with seven weeks in between runs after placing 5th at Randwick in the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) during The Championships. He was back in the small field and came home with some slick late splits, producing the fastest last 200m of the entire meeting. The Charlotte Littlefield galloper was a dominant winner when fresh at Pakenham prior to that and has won three of five. Ben Allen provides a 35% profit on investment when combining with the stable and just needs to stay within striking distance early on.

Race 8 No.7- Niance

The feature at Caulfield is the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes and keen on Niance. The Grahame Begg mare has won five of her past six starts and heads into this fresh after a two start spring campaign that saw her claim the Alinghi Stakes (1100m) and the How Now Stakes (1200m) with both of those coming against some excellent opposition at Caulfield. She went a very healthy 16.7 lengths faster than standard in the Alinghi Stakes and we can expect a forward run after the five-year-old claimed a recent trial.
