Race 2: No.3 Ain’tsobad
The Tara Itzstein-trained galloper is back in winning form and ticks enough boxes here to suggest she can go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Maschino mare was third-up and at her best when she took carte of a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1300m.
On a Heavy 8 that day, Brayden Gaerth had her settled outside the leader before taking over inside the final 200m and went on to win by more than a length on the line.
Drawn wide here in gate nine, her early gate speed should see the six-year-old cross and settle just behind the pace.
Gaerth steers the ship again and now a track winner and in form, she looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 4: No.3 Stormageddon
Michael Grantham saddles-up Stormageddon here who is second-up and looks ready to pounce in this event.
Last start, the So You Think gelding resumed after six months in the paddock and unwanted in the market ($19), was impressive when he beat all but one home in a BM72, here over 1200m.
Clint Johnston-Porter settled him back in the field before finishing strongly to grab the silver medal, finishing almost two lengths clear of the third placegetter.
From gate seven, the five-year-old maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Johnston-Porter at the helm again and already a winner when second-up, looks a strong winning chance in this contest.
Race 8: No.3 Silver Eye
The Adam Durrant-trained galloper is second-up and looks set for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Sessions gelding resumed off a five-month absence and wasted no time getting back into stride when he took out a BM66, here over 1000m with Clint Johnston-Porter in the saddle.
He settled back in the field before scouting wide on the turn where he finished strongly and went on to score comfortably in the end.
Drawn out in gate nine here, he maps to cross and settle near mid-field with Johnston-Porter calling the shots again for this assignment.
A known track specialist, scoring four of his five career wins on this track, he is also a two-time winner when second-up and ticks all the right boxes here that suggest he is a prime contender in this contest.
