Sandown Racing Tips for September 27- Ole Dancer to bounce back in the Thousand Guineas Prelude

Sonofkirk is worth thought at the each-way quote in Race 3. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper didn't fire over the 1200m in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 30, battling in the concluding stages to run 5th. He comes back in trip to the 1000m and his career best came over the distance back in June when going 8.7 lengths faster than standard to score from Oyster Lane. The son of Ole Kirk will get back from the barrier and should enjoy a nice cart into the race with plenty of speed in front on him. The blinkers go on for the first time. 

King Zephyr should be hard to beat in Race 4 of the day at Sandown. The lightly raced five-year-old has won five of eight career starts and resumed with a solid showing over the 1200m at Moonee Valley earlier this month with a 3rd behind La Fracas. He was slowly away and was three-wide and back on a slow tempo before working home well. The Grahame Begg-trained galloper improved more than 12 lengths on benchmark figures when second up at his last preparation when scoring at Sandown and draws to get the run of the race with Jordan Childs on board. He strikes at 26% when combining with the stable. 

Keen on Navy Pilot in Race 4 for the three-year-olds. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper returned over the 1100m at Flemington on September 13 and closed off with the fastest late splits to miss out in a head-bobber behind Legacy Bound as the runner-up horse. He will improve off that and at the second run of his debut campaign, the son of I Am Invincible spiked seven lengths on benchmark figures when going from a Kensington Maiden win over the 1000m to a three-length 9th behind Vinrock in the Group 1 Inglis Sires (1400m) before dominating his rivals in a Saturday race at Eagle Farm. He tucks in behind a solid tempo from barrier 2 and the 2kg claim for Logan Bates gets him down to a winnable weight. 

Giving Ole Dancer another chance in the Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m). The Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained galloper stepped out off a six-week break as a well-backed favourite in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley recently but had little hope when forced back on a crawling tempo. She was doing her best work late with the fastest last 200m to place 5th behind Alpha Sofie. The daughter of Ole Kirk was unbeaten in her only other two career runs and should be better suited by the step up to the 1400m and the longer straight at Sandown. Blake Shinn rides and strikes at 36% for the stable, providing a 28% profit on turnover.
