Race 3: No.2 Acorn
The Adam Durrant-trained galloper is in great touch this time in and ticks the boxes here to suggest he is the testing material in this event.
Last start, the Sessions gelding made it three-straight podium finishes when he beat all but one home in a Hcp event over 1100m at Ascot.
William Pike settled him second early and in the run home held his ground and hit the line well, beaten a whisker in the end.
Stepping-up to the 1200m for the first time, he draws ideally in gate two and maps to be box-seating on settling with Pike at the helm again.
Fourth-up and at his peak here, the four-year-old won his only start at the track to date and looks ideally placed to claim another victory at the track in this contest.
Race 4: No.4 Cleanemup
Neville Parnham saddles-up Cleanemup here who is second-up and on her favourite track, looks a solid each-way chance in this event.
Last start, the Rich Enuff mare resumed after six months off the scene and impressed when she beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1000m at Ascot.
From gate six, she settled near last with Rocky Cheung in the saddle before tracking wide on the turn and on straightening, spotted them far too much start but still stormed home to grab second prize, beaten just over two lengths on the line.
From gate seven here, she maps to settle back in the field again with Steven Parnham as the new pilot for this assignment.
Fitter for that first-up run, the four-year-old is already a winner when second-up and boasting three wins at the track as well, a ticket on both totes looks the way to go in this contest.
Race 5: No.2 Ladies Pro
The Team Williams-trained galloper is yet to finish out of the top-four placings in five career starts and third-up here, looks the best of the bunch in this event.
Last start, the D'argento filly came off a first-up win when she finished fourth in a Three-Year-Old Hcp over 1400m at Ascot.
William Pike settled her last of the six runners before looking for an inside run on straightening which closed quickly, leaving the filly no racing room at all, and never recovered from there, beaten almost two lengths across the line.
Drawn gate four here in a bigger field (of 12), she maps to take a sit back in the field again with Pike retaining the ride.
Fitter for two runs back, the three-year-old is expected to bounce back from that forgettable run and with clear passage to the line here, we should see a much improved performance from her in this contest.
