We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Ascot racetrack.

Race 1: No.4 Royal Toronado

The Team Williams-trained galloper is three starts into this preparation and now looks ready to produce his best in this event.

Last start, the Toronado gelding showed further improvement when he found the podium by finishing third, here in a BM72 over 1800m with Brad Parnham aboard.

Mid-field early, he worked himself into the race before running the best final 400m and arrived in time to claim the minor prize in a tight finish, beaten less than a length on the line.

Fitter for three runs back, the stable remove the winkers and slip on the blinkers for the first time with William Pike returning for the ride after steering the five-year-old to victory on four previous occasions.

Well drawn in gate six, he maps to settle back in the field but should be storming home at the business end of this contest.

Race 5: No.8 Shmoov Moova

The Simon Miller-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks all the boxes that suggest he will take plenty of beating in this event.

Last start, the Territories gelding resumed off a nine-week spell and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth, here over 1200m with Sydney rider Tim Clark in the saddle.

From gate nine (of 15), he was trapped three-wide without cover to the turn before finishing on strongly in the end to claim fifth prizemoney.

William Pike returns for the ride here and from gate seven, he maps to settle near mid-field with cover.

Boasting track specialist status, he has four wins on his resume from five starts at Ascot and already a winner when second-up, he should prove hard to hold out of this contest.

Race 9: No.15 King Of Light

The Daniel Morton-trained galloper lines-up here unbeaten in five starts and although his toughest test to date, he looks the benchmark for victory in his first Group One event.

Last start, the Irish-sired gelding made it five-straight when he easily accounted for his rivals in the Group 2 WA Guineas over 1600m.

After settling mid-field, he ranged closer to them on the turn before (yet again) finishing over the top of them, beating home the 13-strong field by more than a length on the line.

From barrier eight he maps to settle near mid-field again and should secure cover from there.

William Pike has been aboard for all five starts to date and is in pride of place for the big Group One affair here.

Avoiding any dramas in running, a clear run to the line can see the three-year-old making it six-straight and collecting the major prize in this contest.
