Race 2: No.5 Moscow Maid
The Team Hawkes-trained galloper is in good touch this time in and down in grade here, looks a real threat in this event.
Last start, the Russian Revolution filly was third-up when she finished third in a BM68 over 1100m at Warwick Farm.
Tyler Schiller settled her third behind a tearaway leader who had eight lengths on them at the halfway mark, then in the run home, buckled under pressure and Moscow Maid did well to stick on for the minor prize in the end.
Coming off city-class racing here, she draws nicely in gate three and maps to settle just behind the speed with Schiller in the saddle again.
Dropping back to a Class 1 in the country and at her peak here, the three-year-old should prove hard to beat in this contest.
Race 7: No.3 Stratafy
Neil Ward saddles-up Stratafy here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to suggest she is a genuine winning chance at odds in this event.
Last start, the Stratum Star mare resumed off a lengthy 23-week break and on need of the run, finished mid-field in a BM64 over 900m at Newcastle.
Carrying the number one saddlecloth that day, Olivia Dalton settled her back near the tail of the field to the turn, then sticking to the inside, ran home well to pass a couple and finish sixth across the line.
From gate three here, she maps to settle mid-field or better and after steering her to victory previously, Winona Costin returns to takes the reins for this assignment.
Fitter for that first-up run and already a two-time winner at the track, the five-year-old looks in the mix here and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 8: No.3 Unbridled Storm
The Chris Waller-trained galloper is high-flying this preparation and down in grade today, looks set to give this event a real shake.
Last start, the Puissance de Lune gelding put in another honest effort when he finished third in a BM72 over 1600m at Warwick Farm.
Tim Clark settled him mid-field on the fence to the turn, then sticking to the inside he saved plenty of ground and boxed-on strongly to claim the minor prize, out-bobbed for the silver medal on the line.
Back to a country BM64 here, he draws out in barrier eight today where he maps to settle in the second-half of the field with Jason Collett returning for his second ride on the gelding.
At his peak after four-starts back, a trouble-free run here can see the five-year-old there at the finish of this contest.
