Warwick Farm Racing

Warwick Farm racing takes place on Wednesday, September 4, with a 7-race program set down for the Warwick Farm track.
  • Race 1: No.1  Private Life
  • Race 4: No.5  Wagga Wagga
  • Race 5: No.6  Party Doll
  • Race 6: No.3  Influential

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Warwick Farm racecourse.

Race 1: No.1  Private Life

The Chris Waller-trained Private Life resumes off a 15-week break here and recent trials suggest he is ready to go in this event.

Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding ended his first campaign with a dominant win, here over 1100m in a Maiden Hcp.

James McDonald had him box-seating on settling and after taking over inside the final 200m, ran away to win by 1.5 lengths on the line.

Returning to work recently, he has placed in two trials on this track, the most recent, finishing a close-up second over 818m.

Nash Rawiller takes over here as the three-year-old gets all the favours from gate one where he maps to be box-seating again.

Already a winner at the track, after two successful trials, he should be ready to rock on fresh legs in this contest.

Race 4: No.5  Wagga Wagga

The Ciaron Maher-trained Wagga Wagga is third-up here and having his first look at a NSW track, can get the job done in this event.

Last start, the UK import had just his fourth start on Australian soil where he showed a ton of improvement, beating all but one home in a BM64 over 2100m on the Lakeside track at Sandown.

With Mark Zahra in the saddle, he settled near mid-field and with 60kgs on his back, did well to miss the major prize by a whisker on the line.

Maher brings him to Sydney now where he steps-up slightly in grade, taking on BM72 gallopers but drops 3kgs for this assignment.

He does no early work from gate one and should settle just behind the speed.

Dylan Gibbons is the new pilot and already a winner when third-up, the lightly-raced six-year-old looks well places to go one better in this contest.

Race 5: No.6  Party Doll

Brad Widdup saddles-up Party Doll here who is third-up and in great touch this time in and has the runs on the board that suggest she can roll the race favourite (Bonita Queen) in this event.

Last start, the Sooboog mare came off a first-up win at Hawkesbury when she beat all but one home in a BM72 in city-class company on Randwick’s Kensington track.

With Tyler Schiller in charge, she travelled three-wide most of the way and on a Heavy 8 that day, did well to take home the silver medal in the race.

Even fitter for two runs back, Schiller sticks with her for this assignment where she draws gate six but maps to cross and find cover this time.

A trouble-free run here sees her in the mix and a real threat to victory in this contest.

Race 6: No.3  Influential

Another from the Waller stable is Influential who is three starts into this preparation and looks set to make a real impression in this event.

Last start, the son of The Autumn Sun made it back-to-back runner-up finishes when he beat all but one to the line in a BM72, here over the 1600m trip.

James McDonald has been aboard for his last two outings but is replaced here by Kerrin McEvoy who is legged aboard for the first time.

Ideally drawn in gate three, he maps to settle better than mid-field and should be at his peak for this assignment.

Three previous starts at the track all ended in runner-up finishes so here, he gets his chance to one better in this contest.
