- Race 9: No.6 Blixten
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Murray Bridge racecourse.
Race 5: No.5 High On Sugar
The Francis & Kent-trained High On Sugar is second-up here and looks well placed to improve on his first-up effort.
Last start, the Overshare gelding was fresh off an 11-week spell when he finished mid-field in a BM64 over 1000m at Morphettville.
In a race that was always going to be too short for him, he also struggled in the wet conditions, racing a Heavy 8 that day.
Kayla Crowther was aboard and remains in the saddle for this assignment where he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to be near the speed on settling.
Fitter for that first-up run, he will relish the step-up to the 1400m trip here and the drop back to Class 1 company should also suit.
A trouble-free run here should see him saluting.
Race 6: No.2 Suggestive Miss
The Travis Doudle-trained Suggestive Miss is third-up here and should be ready to produce her best in this event.
Last start, the Denman mare was second-up after six months off the scene and showed improvement when she finished fourth (of 13) in a BM56 over 1200m at Balaclava.
With Ben Price aboard, she settled back in the field, three-wide with cover, and while not a winning chance in the run home, still hit the line strongly and finish just behind the placegetters, beaten just two lengths on the day.
Price remains in charge for this assignment and from gate four, the six-year-old maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.
Already a winner when third-up, she is placed at the track and avoiding any dramas here, looks a genuine chance of taking this out.
Race 8: No.3 Flying Assassin
Garret Lynch saddles-up Flying Assassin here who only needs to overcome a wide gate to be considered a real threat in this event.
Last start, the Irish-sired gelding finally found his mojo this preparation when he took out a BM56, here over 1800m.
With Tala Hutchinson in the saddle, the young apprentice rode him a treat, where he showed appreciation towards the step-up in distance, from the 1600m at his previous run.
The stable is asking him to step-up again here as he faces the 2000m journey for the first time where Hutchinson will steer the ship again.
He draws wide in gate 11 (of 16) but maps to settle back in the field anyway and will be looking for a trail.
In winning form and now a winner at the track, he meets similar company here and looks a real threat in this contest.
Race 9: No.6 Blixten
Another from the Garret Lynch stable is Blixten who has run into some form of late and looks well placed here to bring up his second career-win in this event.
Last start, the Rebel Dane gelding made it a hat-trick of top-three finishes when he claimed third prize in a BM56 over 1400m at Balaclava.
With Samuel Payne aboard, he carried 58.5kgs that day and battled home well to take home the minor prize in the event.
Tala Hutchinson returns for her third ride on the six-year-old, having finished runner-up twice previously with the gelding.
He does no early work from gate two and should settle in the back half of the field, with cover.
He meets similar company here and after the 3kg claim from Hutchinson, the gelding carries 2kgs less than last start.
Now in some form and stepping-up to the mile for the first time, a trouble-free run here can see him fighting out the finish in this contest.
