Race 2: No.7 Caspernova
Robert Heathcote saddles-up Caspernova here who is second-up and ticks the boxes that suggest he is the testing material in this event.
Last start, the Spirit Of Boom gelding resumed off a 13-week spell and impressed when beating all but one home in a Class 5 Hcp, over 1110m at Doomben.
He settled back in the field before finishing well enough to grab second prize with Jake Bayliss aboard.
Back to his pet distance here, the resume shows eight starts at the 1200m for four wins and three runner-up finishes over the trip.
In-form rider Ryan Maloney is legged aboard for his first ride on the four-year-old and gets the gun-run from gate one.
Already a winner when second-up, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 4: No.4 Gin A Tonic
The Bevan Laming-trained galloper is in career-best form this preparation and looks in the mix here for another win.
Last start, the Better Than Ready gelding made it four-straight podium finishes when he beat all but one home in Open company over 1110m at Doomben.
He came from mid-field early to finished a head behind the winner with Cobi Vitler in the saddle.
Down in weight for this, Kyle Wilson-Taylor has his first ride on the three-year-old here and gets all the favours from gate one where he maps to settle just behind the speed.
Already a winner at the track and distance, conditions look in his favour here and he looks a genuine winning chance in this contest at odds.
Race 7: No.8 I Am Artie
The Paul Jenkins-trained galloper is three starts back from a five-month absence and back on his home track, looks a solid chance of finding the podium in this event.
Last start, the Artie Schiller gelding found early trouble but finished well enough to be within three lengths of the winner in the Listed Hinkler Hcp over 1200m at Eagle Farm.
Back on provincial ground here, Tiff Brooker has her first ride on the five-year-old who jumps from gate seven and maps to settle better than mid-field.
With five wins from nine starts at the track, he should be at his peak fourth-up here and looks a solid each-way chance in this contest.
