Race 4: No.10 Beauty Bound
The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper has impressed in all four starts this time in and ticks all the boxes that suggest she will take beating in this contest.
Last start, the Sebring mare did well when coming from back in the field to grab second prize in a BM64 over 1050m at Morphettville.
Dropping back from city-class competition here, she draws nicely in gate four and maps to be near mid-field with cover and has Jake Opperman in the saddle.
At her peak with those four runs under her belt, her resume shows a previous win at the track and distance and with a trouble-free run here, she looks set to add another notch to her record in this contest.
Race 5: No.9 Swycho
Michael Hickmott saddles-up Swycho here who is second-up and looks well placed to claim another victory in this event.
Last start, the Echoes Of Heaven mare resumed after 19 weeks off the scene and in need of the run, finished fifth in a BM78 over 1200m at Morphettville.
The four-year-old did it tough from gate 13 (of 14), and never on the track, did well to finish four lengths off the winner over an unsuitable distance.
Stepping up to the 1500m here, she drops back to BM66 opposition and from barrier eight, maps to cross and settle in the first half-dozen with Caitlin Tootell remaining aboard for this assignment.
Already a winner when second-up, and has tasted victory at the track and distance, she looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 8: No.4 Sign From Above
Another from the Phillip Stokes stable, the Divine Prophet gelding is second-up here and looks well placed to end his 12-month winless streak in this event.
Last start, he was fresh off 13-week spell and having his first start for the Stokes camp, he wasn’t disgraced when finishing third over 1200m at Morphettville.
Lachlan Neindorf had the reins for the first time and from gate 10 (of 11), was trapped three-deep without cover to the turn.
Tracking even wider on straightening, he eventually took over but his condition gave out over the final stages and he was run down, leaving him with the minor prize in the event.
He finally draws a decent gate and from barrier four, maps to settle just behind the speed on the fence with Neindorf retaining the ride.
Fitter for that first-up run and already a winner when second-up, a trouble-free run here should see him there at the finish.
