Race 4: No.2 Esmahli
The Team Hayes-trained galloper makes his Sydney debut with a glowing resume and looks a genuine chance of taking home fist prize in this event.
Last start, the Irish-sired colt scored his second win at his third start when he comfortably took out a BM64 over 1200m at Mornington.
In the small field, Luke Currie settled him just behind the speed before taking over inside the final 150m and going on to win by more than a length on the line.
Apprentice Jack Callen is new pilot for this assignment and after his claim, the colt carries 3.5kgs less than his last start win.
If he can handle his first attempt at the reverse way of going here, the three-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Alabama Fox
The Team Archibald-trained galloper is high-flying after four starts this campaign and looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Alabama Express mare came off successive runner-up finishes when she went one better and clobbered a BM78 field over 1500m at Randwick.
With Zac Lloyd in the saddle, she settled second, outside the leader, before taking over inside the final 250m and raced away to score by 1.5 lengths on the line.
Drawn out in gate nine here, she has enough early gate speed to cross and settle better than mid-field with new pilot Mollie Fitzgerald aboard.
At her peak after four starts back, the four-year-old can go back-to-back in this contest.
Race 8: No.7 Step Aside
Chris Waller saddles-up Step Aside here who had no luck at Randwick and looks set to bounce back in this event.
Last start, the Redwood gelding came off a BM80 win when he stepped-up to BM88 grade and did well to finish fourth at set weights in the 1400m event.
Hampered badly at the 1000m mark, he was pushed wide and caught three-deep to the turn where he tracked wider and finished off strongly, beaten just 1.5 lengths on the line.
From a wide gate (11) he maps to cross and settle near mid-field with Siena Grima backing-up for the ride and already a two-time winner over the 1300m at Rosehill, the six-year-old can figure here and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
