The Team Freedman-trained galloper is in great touch this preparation and looks poised to bounce back in this event.

Last start, the Pierro gelding was shooting for the hat-trick when he finished unplaced in the Goulburn Cup over 1400m.

The fast tempo didn’t suit him that day as he crossed from gate seven and settled fourth behind the early speed to the turn, then in the run home, he chased hard all the way but ran out of gas over the final 100m, beaten 2.5 lengths on the line.

Stepping up to the mile trip here, he jumps from gate six and maps to cross and settle in the first half-dozen with Chad Schofield retaining the ride for this assignment.

Already a winner at the track and distance, the five-year-old looks set to give this contest a real shake.

Race 4: No.7 Unleeshing

Bjorn Baker saddles-up Unleeshing here who is second-up and well placed to go one better in this event.

Last start, the Dundeel mare resumed after six months off the scene and did well to beat all but one home in a BM78 Hcp, here over 1200m.

Rachel King had her settled three pairs back with cover to the turn, then weaving through traffic she was severely hampered inside the final 200m and had to be re-balanced before coming again and did still managed to grab second prize over the line.

Ideally drawn here in gate two, she maps to settle mid-field or better with King in the saddle again for this assignment.

Already a winner at the 1400m trip, if she can secure clean air in the run home, the five-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 5: No.9 Althoff

The Chris Waller-trained galloper is high-flying this time in and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick in this event.

Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding came off a big win at Rosehill when he franked that effort by taking out a BM100 Hcp over 1500m at the same track.

Zac Lloyd settled him last early spotting the leader eight lengths mid-race before tracking wide on the turn, then in the run home finished over the top of them, crossing the line a length clear with plenty to spare.

Drawn out in barrier eight, he maps to settle back in the field again with Tyler Schiller as the new pilot.

Already a winner at Group 3 level, he comes in on the limit of 53kgs and at his peak, the five-year-old looks a major contender in this contest.
