Gold Coast racing takes place on Saturday, September 19 with a 10-race program set down for the Gold Coast racetrack.

Race 7: No.1 Grand Impact

The Sydney-based galloper has his first look at the Gold Coast track here and in great form this time in looks a genuine chance of taking out this event.

Last start, punters sent out the Japanese-sired gelding a white-hot $1.60 favourite where he finished second in a BM94 Hcp over 1200m at Rosehill.

Third-up that day, Zac Lloyd had him box-seating to the turn before coming off the fence and soon after took control but was then upstaged by the eight-year-old Lisztomania who spoilt the party for the odds-on favourite, leaving him with his third-straight runner-up prize.

Crossing the border here, he draws ideally in gate two and maps to settle near the speed with Anna Roper has steered the gelding to victory previously and makes the trip north as well for this assignment.

Fourth-up and at his peak now, the seven-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 9: No.3 Carravilla

Team Munce saddle-up Carravilla here who is back on track after four starts this preparation and should now be ready to fire her best shot in this event.

Last start, the Pierata mare finished a close-up third in a BM72 Hcp over 1350m at Doomben.

Ben Osmond had her settled fourth with the run of the race (one out, one back) to the turn, then in the run home laid down the challenge and looked the goods but ran out of steam over the final fifty metres and was out-bobbed for second prize on the line as well, beaten half a length in the end.

Having her first look at the Gold Coast track here, she draws nicely in gate four and with Osmond on the stablemate (Pocketmoney), Tahlia Fenlon returns for her sixth ride on the mare, having already steered her to victory previously.

At her peak and well drawn, the five-year-old can make a statement here and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 10: No.6 Surprise Honey

The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is in top-shelf form of late and looks a big chance of pulling off the hat-trick in this event.

Last start, the Extreme Choice mare came off a big win in Class 6 company when she franked that result and went back-to-back by taking out a BM85 Hcp over 1200m at Eagle Farm.

Daniel Moor had her parked on the leader’s heels to the turn, then soon after straightening, she came off heels and took control, going on to score an effortless win, putting almost three lengths on the ten-strong field.

Meeting similar company here, she draws out in gate ten and maps to push forward and cross to settle just off the speed with Moor in the saddle again.

With a little luck in running, the five-year-old can keep the winning streak going here and claim another victory in this contest.
