Race 4: No.3 Swiftfalcon
The Team Hawkes-trained Swiftfalcon is second-up here and looks well placed for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Exceedance gelding resumed off a 14-week spell and did it in style, taking out a BM64 over 1420m at Flemington.
Coming from back in the field, he took the lead inside the final 200m and held them all at bay from there, winning by almost a length on the line.
He steps-up to Listed company here and has Jay Ford back in the saddle after steering him to victory at Rosehill two starts back.
This is his first look at the 1600m trip but he is dropping 5kgs and will strip fitter off that first-up win.
He should prove very hard to hold out at the finish.
Race 5: No.4 Floating
The Matt Smith-trained Floating is three starts into this campaign and ticks all the boxes that suggest he can finish on top in this event.
Last start, the Puissance De Lune gelding was third-up and showing signs of improvement when he clobbered his rivals in a BM88 over the Randwick mile with Zac Lloyd in the saddle.
After settling mid-field, he worked into the race on the turn where he found the from inside the final 150m and went on to win by 1.5 lengths over the line.
From gate six, he maps to settle mid-field with cover as Lloyd sticks with him for this assignment.
He claims track-specialist status with three wins already on the Randwick track and at his peak here, he looks right in the mix again.
Race 7: No.3 Mazu
Joe Pride saddles-up Mazu here who is second-up and looks ready to pounce in this event.
Last start, the Maurice gelding resumed off a 15-week spell and did well to claim third prize in Group 2 company in The Shorts, here over 1100m with Jason Collett aboard.
Settling second in the race, he ran home strongly and was beaten less than a length on the line.
He draws nicely in gate three here and with Nash Rawiller back in the saddle, he maps to be box-seating on settling.
The six-year-old is already a winner second-up and is a track specialist, boasting four wins and as many minor placings here and with a trouble-free run, he can ring-up career-win number nine in this contest.
Race 9: No.4 Kovalica
Chris Waller saddles-up a host of runners here as we run with Kovalica who looks a genuine winning chance at odds.
Last start, the Ocean Park gelding was fresh off a 12-week break when he finished third in the Group 2 Tramway Stakes, here over 1400m with James McDonald in the saddle.
Settling worse than mid-field (seven lengths off the speed), J.Mac worked him into the race on straightening where he finished strongly to claim the minor prize, beaten just 1.5 lengths on the line.
He gets all the favours here jumping from gate one where he maps to settle mid-field with plenty of cover and has J.Mac sticking with him for this assignment.
Already a two-time winner when second-up, he has three minor placings from seven starts at Randwick and gets his chance here to crack it for his first win at the track.
