We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Randwick racetrack.
Race 6: No.12 Lonhro’s Queen
The Cameron Crockett-trained Lonhro’s Queen is high-flying this time in and looks great value in this event.
Last start, the Lonhro mare missed a podium finish for just the second time this preparation when she finished mid-field in a BM78 over 1100m at Rosehill.
Her luck was all bad that day as she never saw daylight, beaten just three lengths on the line with Ash Morgan in control.
She makes her Randwick debut today and from gate five, maps to settle near mid-field with cover with Reece Jones taking over as pilot for this assignment.
If she can find clean air early in the run home, she can give this contest a real fright and looks well worth an each-way ticket here.
Race 9: No.4 South Of India
The Kembla Grange-based South Of India resumes today and boasting an impeccable fresh record, will take beating in this event.
Last start, the Churchill gelding ended his last campaign by bringing-up the hat-trick when he easily won a BM78, here over the 1000m sprint with Nash Rawiller in the saddle.
Despite Rawiller riding 1kg over, he steered the four-year-old down the outside fence and went on to win by more than a length that day.
From gate five, he maps to settle just behind the speed with Rawiller steering the ship again.
On fresh legs today, he has won two of his three previous first-up appearances and is a track and distance winner as well.
He is a very smart galloper who looks the best of the day in this contest.
Race 10: No.6 Deprivation
Nathan Doyle saddles-up Deprivation here who is in career-best form this time in and looks set to make his Randwick (main course) debut a winning one in this event.
Last start, the No Nay Never gelding made it four-straight podium finishes when he took home third prize in a BM78 over 1250m on the Kensington track.
Trying to lead all the way, Ben Osmond set a good pace up front and in the run home, he looked a winning chance but was grabbed late by a couple of swoopers, beaten less than half a length on the line.
Osmond sticks with him today where he draws ideally in gate three and maps to be setting the pace again from up front.
He steps-up in grade here as he takes on BM82 company but drops 2.5kgs in the process after Osmond’s claim.
Racing in great touch this campaign, he will take catching again in this contest.
