Race 3: No.4 Jellicious
Chris Waller saddles-up Jellicious here who is unbeaten in three starts this preparation and looks set to continue the good work in this event.
Last start, the Snitzel mare brought up the hat-trick when she beat home a BM72 field over 1100m at Warwick Farm with Nash Rawiller in the saddle.
She settled one pair back off the pace before finding the front inside the final 100m and proved too strong again, crossing the line a length clear in the end.
Drawn the outside gate (10), she maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with James McDonald (J.Mac) back aboard (having already ridden the mare to victory twice previously) and with a trouble-free run, the four-year-old can keep the picket fence growing in this contest.
Race 5: No.12 United Kingdom
The Chris Waller-trained galloper is in great shape after three starts back and down in the weights here, looks a genuine winning chance in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Almanzor gelding was third-up when he proved too good in a BM72 over 1800m at Rosehill.
Settling back in the field, he was trapped three-wide most of the way and scouted even wider on the turn before showing a strong turn-of-foot to find the front inside the last 200m and go on with it, crossing the line more than a length clear in the end.
J.Mac was in the saddle that day and sticks with the five-year-old for this assignment.
Fourth-up and at his peak here, he steps-up to BM78 grade but comes in on the limit, carrying just 55kgs and with a clear run to the line, he looks the one to beat at the weights.
Race 6: No.8 Istolea Merc
The Bjorn Baker-trained galloper has impressed by putting four wins (from eight starts) on his resume and well placed here, another victory is in his sights in this event.
Last start, the Winning Rupert gelding resumed after a lengthy 23-week break and made it look easy when he clobbered a BM72 field over 11oom at Warwick Farm.
With Ash Morgan aboard, he settled third (one off the fence) before finding the front inside the last 250m and went on with it from there, crossing the line more than two lengths clear in the end.
The five-year-old has gate seven here and maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with J.Mac as the new pilot.
Already a winner when second-up, he will take beating in this contest.
