Race 4: No.2 Emmadella
Race 6: No.2 Midwest
Race 9: No.14 Headley Grange

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Randwick racetrack.

Race 4: No.2 Emmadella

The John Thompson-trained Emmadella has been in great form recently and if we forget her latest effort, she in this event with a solid each-way chance.

Last start, the All Too Hard mare came off seven-straight top-four finishes when she failed to fire on a rain affected track in a BM78 over 1500m at Rosehill.

From gate seven, she settled near last of the 11 runners, spotting the leaders nearly 10 lengths, and in the run home, never got hot and travelled poorly, according to jockey, Zac Lloyd.

Prior to that start, she was in career-best form, scoring an impressive win two starts back in a BM72 Midway, here over 1400m (on a dry track).

Tom Sheery has been booked for this event where the mare draws gate seven but maps to be no worse than mid-field on settling.

Giving her the benefit of the doubt for that last effort, she is at big odds here (currently $20) and looks well-worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 6: No.2 Midwest

Team Freedman saddle-up Midwest here who has improved off two starts back this preparation and looks well placed to go one better in this event.

Last start, the Zoustar gelding was impressive when second-up, he beat all but one home in the Listed W.J Adams Stakes (1000m) at Sandown.

Trying to lead all the way, he set a solid pace early and was still travelling in the run home but his condition told in the final 100m, beaten by one better on the day.

Back in Sydney after two years south of the border, Zac Wadick is booked for the ride who brings a 2.5kg claim with him.

The six-year-old comes up with the outside gate (10) here but with his early speed, maps to cross and lead on settling.

Carrying less weight after the claim, he should find this a little easier and if left alone in front, he can get away with this contest.

Race 9: No.14 Headley Grange

The Joe Pride-trained galloper is in sensational form of late and down in the weights here, looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the Exosphere gelding went back-to-back when he took out a BM78, here over 1400m with Adam Hyeronimus in the saddle.

He settled one back and one off the fence where he enjoyed the trail, then in the run home, finished strongly to arrive in time to claim the gold medal with 59kgs on his back.

He steps-up to Open company here with Tyler Schiller booked for the ride and gets the gun-run from gate one where he maps to settle better than mid-field on the fence.

In form with five-straight top-two finishes on his resume, he drops 6.5kgs for this contest and enjoying a soft sit to the turn, he should prove hard to hold out here.
