Race 5: No. 10 Good Banter
The O’Shea & Charlton-trained galloper has found her mojo recently and looks well placed here to give this a real shake at odds.
Last start, the Tavistock mare came off a BM78 win (over 2000m) when she faced similar company again and beat all but one of them home, here over the longer 2400m trip.
Stepping up to Group 3 company here, the mare drops back to the 2000m journey and has Andrew Adkins back for this assignment.
The five-year-old does no early work from gate two where she maps to settle back in the field near the fence.
All three career wins have come on heavy tracks so conditions here are ideal for another forward showing and a ticket on both totes looks the way to go in this contest.
Race 8: No.3 Gringotts
Ciaron Maher saddles-up Gringotts here who resumes after five months off the scene but boasting a strong fresh record, looks in the mix for a first-up win in this event.
Last start, the Per Incanto gelding came off a win in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) when he finished mid-field in the Group 1 Doncaster Hcp (1600m) on this track.
Although finishing out of the top ten that day, he still hit the line strongly, beaten just 1.5 lengths on the line.
Six previous starts on rain affected tracks have resulted in four wins and two minor placings so conditions here are in his favour.
Drawn out in gate 10, he maps to cross and settle mid-field with regular rider Tommy Berry in pride of place.
Already a winner when first-up, he ticks all other boxes that suggest he is a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 9: No.12 Just Feelin’ Lucky
The Michael Freedman-trained galloper resumes off a 10-week break here and is capable of stealing home base in this event.
Last preparation, the Justify mare won three of her four starts with the last of those being victory in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic over 1600m at Eagle Farm.
With Tommy Berry aboard, the four-year-old led from barrier to box, crossing the line more than a length clear in the end.
Since then, she has won a barrier trial here, on a Heavy 8 track that day.
From gate seven, she maps to cross and lead them again with Dylan Gibbons back in the saddle.
Already a winner on fresh legs, is she is left alone to dictate the pace again, they may not be able to catch her in the wet conditions.
Coming in on the limit with just 53kgs to carry, she looks a sound investment in this contest.
