Race 4: No.8 Just Precious
The Stuart Kendrick-trained galloper has fond her mojo this preparation and looks a genuine winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Justify mare was third-up and found her best form when she took out a BM70, here over 1200m with Jake Bayliss in the saddle.
Box-seating to the turn, she took over at the 200m mark and held on for a gallant win.
From gate seven, she maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Bayliss retaining the ride.
At her peak after three runs back, a trouble-free run can see her there at the finish again.
Race 6: No.3 Encoder
Michael Freedman saddles-up Encoder here who is second-up and ticks the right boxes that suggest he can claim victory here at odds.
Last start, the Encryption gelding was fresh off a 12-week spell and in need of the run, finished mid-field in Open company, here over 1400m with Jace McMurray aboard.
From the outside gate (9), he settled near last before running home stoutly, passing a few on the way.
Drawn wide again here, he maps to settle back in the field but will appreciate the step-up to the mile trip in this event.
Already a winner when second-up and carrying 3kgs less than last start, improvement is expected and a podium finish looks on the cards in this contest.
Race 9: No.14 About To Explode
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is second-up here and looks set to give this event a real shake.
Last start, the Spirit Of Boom gelding resumed after five months in the paddock and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in a No Metro Win contest, here over 1200m.
Cejay Graham settled him back in the field and despite travelling wide throughout, still finished strongly, beaten three lengths on the line in the 12-strong field.
The five-year-old gets the gun-run from gate one here and maps to settle somewhere near mid-field with new pilot Ben Thompson steering the ship.
Fitter for one run back and already a two-time winner at the track and distance, a clear run to the line should see him hard to hold out in this contest.
