Race 5: No.3 Considered
The Matt Dunn-trained galloper has done everything right leading up to this C’ship Final and clearly looks the one to beat in the event.
Last start, the So You Think mare made it six-straight wins (four in a row for this campaign) when she took out the Military Rose Plate over 1200m at the Gold Coast.
Seeing the track for the first time, she drew wide in gate nine (of 11) where Andrew Mallyon settled her back in the field before railing like a greyhound and with luck on her side, the gaps appeared and she burst through to take over inside the final 100m and went on to score an impressive win.
Well drawn in gate four here, Nash Rawiller takes the reins for the first time and with a trouble-free run, she looks the one they have to hold out in this contest.
Race 7: No.6 Joliestar
Chris Waller saddles-up the four-time Group 1 winning Joliestar here who is unbeaten in two starts back and looks set to bring up the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar mare franked her Group 2 Expressway Stakes victory by going back-to-back when she took out the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes with James McDonald (J.Mac) aboard on both occasions.
J.Mac had her settled third, one off the fence to the turn, then in the run home, had too many guns for them as she finished best to take home the gold medal for the event.
Drawn well in gate five here, she maps to settle just behind the speed with J.Mac in the saddle again.
Already a three-time winner at the track and distance, she looks a genuine chance of making it three-straight in this contest.
Race 10: No.11 Horseshoe Hill
The Bjorn Baker-trained galloper is two starts into this campaign and is well placed here to figure in the finish of this event.
Last start, the All Too Hard filly showed plenty of improvement when she came off an unplaced first-up run and turned it around when she took out a BM72 for fillies and mares over 1150m at Randwick on the Kensington track.
Jason Collett had her box-seating on settling to the turn before coming off heels and soon after took control, going on to score an easy win in the end.
Nicely drawn in gate three here, she maps to settle near mid-field with Tommy Berry as the new pilot.
Even fitter, third-up here, she is stepping-up to Group 3 level but has the form on the board to suggest she is a genuine winning chance and well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
