Race 1: No.2 Peaceful Ruler
The Stephen Miller-trained galloper is high-flying after three runs back and ticks all the boxes here that suggest he is the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Universal Ruler gelding made it back-to-back successes when he grabbed victory in a set weights event, here over 1400m.
Brad Parnham had him settled third just off the speed before finishing best to grab a narrow win on the day lumping 60kgs.
Facing similar company here, he gets the gun-run from gate one with Parnham in the saddle again.
Three wins from just four career starts paints the picture and dropping 2kgs for this assignment, he looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 5: No.8 Western Lady
Team Williams saddle-up Western Lady here who is in great touch this time in and lines-up here as a major player in this event.
Last start, the Toronado mare finished bridesmaid yet again when she beat all but one home in a One Metro Win Hcp, here over 1800m.
From gate 10 (of 12), she dropped back at the start but gradually worked her way into the race before running home strongly to finish just over a length behind the winner that day.
Nicely drawn in gate four here, she maps to settle near mid-field with Fiore steering the ship again.
Yet to miss a podium finish this preparation, the four-year-old will be at her peak fourth-up and sporting the tongue tie for the first time, looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 9: No.6 Smooth Chino
The Albany-based galloper remains unbeaten after six starts and first-up here looks set to keep that record intact in this event.
Last start, the Maschino gelding ended his last campaign by taking out the Listed Black Hart Bart Stakes, here over 1200m.
Austin Galati was in the saddle that day and after settling him in third place, he picked up a head of steam on straightening and with the advantage of the rails-run he was given, drew alongside the leader (briefly) before cruising to victory, crossing the line 1.5 lengths clear in the end.
Resuming here after four months off the scene, he draws well in gate three and maps to be box-seating on settling with Lucy Fiore as the new pilot.
Two from two on fresh legs suggests he will be hard to beat in this contest.
