Randwick Kensington Racing Tips for October 7 – Fox to hunt them down in Race 3

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which is one of the major meetings from around Australia in our Wednesday tips.

Love Story should be hard to beat in the opener on the Kensington track at Randwick. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained mare has had just the one start, with that coming at Warwick Farm last month. She led them up before just going down late behind Tucci, with those two putting a three-length gap on the rest. The daughter of Justify had trialled well in the lead-up to that run, with a win at Gosford and Randwick. She went 1.3 lengths faster than standard benchmark on debut, which is the best last-start figure of any runner in this race, and she should have improvement to come at her second start. Look for her to lead them up and be hard to run down late in the piece.

Alabama Fox should be hard to beat in Race 3. The lightly raced five-year-old resumed with a promising effort at Warwick Farm a couple of weeks ago, settling handy before issuing a challenge to Monte Kate but falling just short. She should be suited by the slight step up to 1400m and was a seven-length improver at this stage of her last campaign when finishing runner-up at Rosehill before winning third-up. The daughter of Alabama Express draws the inside barrier and will likely track the leader before edging out at the right time with Zac Lloyd on board.

Scenic Point can be an improver in the final race of the day at the Kensington track. The Joe Pride-trained mare won her first two starts when trained in Victoria before being transferred over the winter. She was supported in the betting at her first run for Pride after some solid trial form, leading them up in a Saturday race at Randwick last month before just fading late into fifth position. This is easier, and she has since taken out another trial. Expect her to go close..
