Race 3: No.3 Like A Drifter
The locally-trained galloper is unbeaten in two starts this preparation and back on home soil again, looks a major player in this event.
Last start, the American-bred gelding made it back-to-back successes when he destroyed a BM58 field over 1100m at Strathalbyn.
Drawn wide in gate nine, he settled mid-field and was never on the track, before scouting even wider on the turn where he reeled in the leader, then went on to put almost four lengths on them over the line.
Much better placed here in gate four, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen with cover and after steering him to victory in his last two outings, Tala Hutchinson remains aboard for this assignment.
Fitter for two runs back and in winning form, a trouble-free run here should see the three-year-old hard to beat in this contest.
Race 8: No.3 From The Block
The Team Jolly-trained galloper is second-up here and from a favourable draw, looks a major contender in this event.
Last start, the Shooting to Win gelding resumed after six months off the scene and did well to finish third in a BM70 over 1000m on the Parks circuit at Morphettville.
Jake Toeroek settled him two pairs back on the fence to the turn before coming off heels and in the run home, chased all the way but lacking in condition, found two a little stronger on the day, settling for the minor prize in the race.
Fitter for that run, he draws well in gate three here and maps to settle on or near the speed with Caitlyn Munro back for her second ride on the gelding.
After the claim, the five-year-old drops in weight here and already a winner when second-up, looks a winning chance in this contest.
Race 9: No.8 Imamanzor
Sarah Rutten saddles-up Imamanzor here who has found his mojo of late and looks a serious chance of victory in this event.
Last start, the Almanzor gelding made it two wins from his past three starts when he clobbered his opposition in a BM58, here over 1400m.
Trapped wide from barrier rise, he travelled three-deep to the turn before finding another effort where he took over on straightening and went on with it, putting almost three lengths on them over the line, carrying top weight of 60.5kgs (after the claim).
Stepping-up in grade here, he faces BM70 company and from a wide gate (12), maps to push forward and cross to settle better than mid-field.
Connor Murtagh has ridden him to victory previously and returns here for this assignment.
Now a track and trip winner and dropping in weight here, he looks one of the main contenders in this contest.
