Race 4: No.7 Fast Harry
The Team Williams-trained galloper resumes after six months off the scene and after two recent trials, should be ready to perform in this event.
Last start, the Harry Angel gelding came off a hat-trick if wins and ended his last campaign finishing fourth in a Rating 66+ over 1400m at Ascot.
In his usual racing style, he settled back in the field but gave them too much start and despite a big run home, finished just behind the placegetters, beaten just over a length on the line with William Pike in control.
He draws ideally in gate two here where he maps to do no early work as he settles back in the field with Pike at the helm again.
Finding the podium in all three first-up appearances to date, he boasts a strong fresh record and with a trouble-free run here, he should be there at the finish of this contest.
Race 5: No.8 Hedawood
Luke Fernie saddles-up Hedawood here who is third-up and looks ready to win.
Last start, the Sessions gelding showed improvement when he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Ascot.
William Pike had him settled second early at the leader’s girth to the turn, then ran home strongly but was unable to bridge the gap, beaten a head on the line.
Fitter for two runs back now, he draws gate six and maps to settle near mid-field with Chris Parnham back for his second ride on the gelding.
Already a track and distance winner, he drops in weight here and should be there at the finish of this contest.
Race 6: No.6 Xentaro
Neville Parnham saddles-up Xentaro here who is in top-shelf form of late and looks every chance of landing the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the Nicconi gelding easily accounted for his rivals in a One-Metro-Win Hcp, here over 1000m with Chris Parnham aboard.
He settled mid-field early before working his way into the race on straightening, then finished over the top of them, crossing the line 1.5 lengths ahead of the 10-strong field.
He gets the favours here, dropping in weight and drawing the fence where he maps to settle just behind the speed with Parnham in the saddle again.
Unbeaten at the track and trip, he ticks all the boxes here and looks the testing material in this contest.
