The Phillip Stokes-trained Zebella is first-up after six months off the scene and after a recent trial, looks ready to go on her fresh legs.
Last start, the Zebedee mare ended her previous campaign by finishing third in restricted company, here over 1300m.
She drew wide that day (gate 10 of 11) and was trapped three-deep without cover most of the trip before battling home gamely to grab the minor prize.
On 6 September, she trialled over 1000m at Murray Bridge and finished half a length second with Lachlan Neindorf on board.
She draws wide again (in gate nine) but maps to settle mid-field with cover this time as Neindorf (who has won the mare previously) returns for this assignment.
Already a winner when first-up, a winner at the track and a two-time winner over the 1200m, she looks a prime contender for the major prize in this contest.
Race 5: No.9 Zarkana
The Francis & Kent-trained Zarkana is three starts into this campaign and should now be ready to shine in this event.
Last start, the Trapeze Artist mare was not suited by the pace and had too much work to do after settling back in the field where she managed to grab third prize in the No Metro Win event, here over 1200m.
She steps-up to the mile trip here and has Kayla Crowther sticking with her for this assignment where she draws wide in gate 10 but will get back at barrier rise and settle worse than mid-field with cover.
Fourth-up here, she should be at her peak for this and with a clear run to the line, watch for the four-year-old finishing late and strong.
Race 6: No.5 Crimson Vine
The Matt Sayers-trained Crimson Vine resumes off a 19-week spell here and with plenty of boxes ticked, looks every chance of spoiling the party at odds in this event.
Last start, the Redwood mare ended her last campaign beating all but one home in the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth II Cup, here over 2500m.
She was no match for the Jamie Kah-ridden The Map that day, but held off the rest of the field to claim a gallant second prize in the race.
She has trialled since returning to work where she left the outside gate (10) and finished fourth, 1.5 lengths behind the winner over an unsuitable 1200m with Jacob Opperman on board.
She draws nicely in gate four and maps to settle near mid-field with cover.
Opperman sticks with her and has ridden the mare six times previously boasting two wins and four minor placings.
She is already a winner on fresh legs and a two-time winner at the track and racing in BM70 company which a huge drop from black-type competition.
If they put the speed on here, she can put in the big ones in the run home and currently at double-figure odds, looks well worth an each-way ticket in this 1536m contest.
Race 7: No.3 Sunzou
Travis Doudle saddles-up Sunzou here who is second-up and is capable of going one better in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar gelding resumed off an 11-week spell and having no luck, did well to beat all but home in a BM72, here over 1000m.
He drew the outside gate (14) that day and couldn’t find a sit where he was trapped three and four wide without cover the entire trip.
The five-year-old draws wide again(11 of 13) but has no early speed inside him and maps to cross and settle just behind the pace with cover this time.
Campbell Rawiller is the new pilot for this assignment.
Boasting a strong fresh record and already a winner when second-up, the well-bred gelding can get the job done here at odds.
