Flemington Race 2 No. 2- Daggers

Daggers was crunched in the betting as soon as markets opened and I am keen to follow the money trail for the unbeaten galloper from the Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young stable. After winning by four lengths on debut at Sandown, the son of I Am Invincible stepped up to Saturday grade at Moonee Valley, leading all the way to defeat Stoli Boli by nearly two lengths. Those races have already provided a number of winners from the beaten brigade, while he has produced the fastest last 200m in both so I suspect the 1400m shouldn't be an issue.

Flemington Race 3 No. 1- Drifting

Drifting should be hard to beat in Race 3 at Flemington. The Peter Snowden-trained filly was impressive when resuming at Caulfield on August 17 over the 1100m, leading all the way to defeat Geegees Mistruth. She ran quick time in the process to go 11 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any runner in this race has produced. The daughter of Zousain has had exposure down the Flemington straight when runner-up behind the impressive Bold Bastille over the 1000m when second up at her last preparation. The Group 3 winner draws the grandstand side and will be ridden by Jamie Kah.

Flemington Race 6 No. 5- Holymanz

Holymanz can be an improver in Race 6. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper has had the two runs this time in and produced the fastest last 200m when a one-length 6th on resumption at the track and trip before battling into 5th position in a six-horse field at Moonee Valley over the 1523m. His run was better than it looked, going 10 lengths faster than standard, which is the best last start figure of any runner. He should appreciate being back at Flemington and will be nearing his peak at his third run this time in.
