Last start, the Adelaide gelding made it two from his past three when he took out a BM64, here over 2020m with Todd Pannell in the saddle.

Stepping up in distance that day, he came from back in the field and arrived in time to grab the major prize right on the line.

He meets BM66 company here over 1950m with Pannell steering the ship again and he will do little work from gate two as he maps to settle near mid-field on the fence.

Now four starts into this campaign, he should be at his peak and will take beating in this contest.

Race 2: No.5 Delightful Shecky

The locally-trained Delightful Shecky is second-up here and all the boxes that suggest he will be a major player at the business end of this event.

Last start, the Delightful Choice gelding resumed off a 22-week absence and caught the eye when finishing third in a BM72, here over 1200m with 59.5kgs on his back.

Sitting two pairs behind the speed, he scored a rails-run on straightening and fought on strongly to grab the minor placing in the race.

He steps-up in grace here, taking on Open class company but drops 5.5kgs in the process and welcomes a new pilot as Jacob Opperman takes the reins for the first time.

Gates won’t be an issue on the small field and already a winner when second-up, he looks right in the mix to claim victory here.

Race 7: No.7 Vintage Star

Team Jolly saddle-up Vintage Star here who is second-up and looks set for back-to-back wins in this event.

Last start, the Starspangledbanner gelding resumed off a 14-week spell and showing no signs of fatigue, easily accounted for a BM64 event, here over 1100m.

Drawing the outside gate (11), Jake Toeroek had to sit three-wide without cover for most of the trip, but still finished over the top of the 11-strong field, winning by more than a length over the line.

He jumps from the middle of the field here in gate seven and maps to settle in a similar position only with cover this time as Toeroek steers the ship again.

Already a winner when second-up and now a track and distance winner as well, he stands out as a serious contender here and looks set for back-to-back wins in this contest.
