Race 2: No.5 Classy Claret
The Andrew Gluyas-trained galloper is in good touch of late and looks well placed for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the American-bred gelding clobbered his rivals in a Rating 0-58 over 200m at Murray Bridge.
He settled outside the leader before hitting top gear inside the final 100m and going on to score by two lengths on the line.
He draws wide here again in gate 12 (of 13) where he maps to go forward and settle in the first half-dozen in the race.
Jason Holder was aboard for that last run and remains in the saddle for this assignment.
Provided he doesn’t have to work hard early, he can settle quickly and be there at the finish in this contest.
Race 5: No.1 Autumn Frost
The Team Jolly-trained galloper is in great touch this preparation and ticks enough boxes here that suggest he is the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the American-sired gelding beat all but one home in a BM0-62 Hcp over 1207m at Gawler.
Carrying top weight of 60kgs, he found the lead inside the final 150m but was run down late, left with the silver medal in the race.
Coming off a six-week let-up here, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle just behind the speed with regular rider Caitlin Jones at the helm.
Already a track and trip winner and in such good form, the four-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 9: No.3 Streetcar Apollo
The Jolly & Potter-trained galloper is high-flying after two starts back and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar gelding was second-up and full of running as he took out a BM64 over 1350m at Strathalbyn.
Drawn the fence that day, he landed in front and never looked back, going on to score by two lengths on the line.
He’ll have to do it from gate 11 here where he maps to push forward and settling on or near the speed with Jake Toeroek retaining the ride.
A track & trip winner and already a winner when third-up, if he can settle quickly here, he should take catching again in this contest.
